Drinking magnesium bicarbonate water to supplement the magnesium in the body is a great idea. It also helps to bring alkalinity to body pH. Here's a simple and inexpensive recipe that was found on several youtube videos on the internet here. Magnesium is a natural calcium channel blocker. It helps the body to remove excess calcium in the body.
3 Tbsp (45 ml) MOM (Milk of Magnesia, 1200 mg/15 ml)*
1 liter Chilled Sparkling Water, carbonated water, Canada Dry Seltzer, or Club Soda
1. Add MOM very slowly to chilled sparkling water to avoid bubbling over.
2. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds with the cap tightened. Chill for several hours. Shake again for 30 seconds. Repeat until MOM is fully dissolved. There may be some undissolved magnesium on the bottom, and that's okay. 'Caved' in bottle means the reaction is complete.
3. This is 11x concentration. To use, add 1 oz. of the concentrate into 11 oz. of clean filtered water or drinks. Drink 4-8 cups of the diluted magnesium bicarbonate each day. May need to start slow to adapt the body to the proper concentration. This magnesium concentration is 3.6mg/ml or 102.2mg per ounce. If use 4 oz. of the concentrate per day, it would be 408.8 mg of magnesium per day. Use 4-8 oz. / day in water or drinks.
*Purchase MOM only with active ingredient of magnesium hydroxide 1200 mg and purified water as inactive ingredients. DO NOT purchase with any preservatives.
