functional, holistic remedies for modern folks

1 C softened butter
1 1/2 C sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 C flour
2/3 C cocoa
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 C chocolate chips (12 oz)
1/2 C chopped nuts (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 350'F.
2. In large mixing bowl, beat butter with sugar. Then add eggs and vanilla and beat until fluffy.
3. Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
4. Gradually add the flour mixture to butter mixture and mix well.
5. Stir in chocolate chips & nuts, if desired.
6. Drop by rounded teaspoons unto ungreased cookie sheet. Press cookis down a little. 
7. Bake 8-10 minutes, or just until set. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack to cool completely.
Makes about 54 cookies.
