Dry & Non-productive Coughs

Red Onion Cough Syrup
One large red onion - peeled & washed
Sweetener (brown sugar, stevia, or honey)
- Cut onion horizontally in slices. Place the base of the onion in a bowl, one layer at a time. Place sweetener in between every onion layer.
- Sit in room temp for 15 hr or overnight. Collect liquid.
- Take 1 Tbsp every 2 -3 hr or 'til cough subsides.

Modified recipe:
1/4 red onion
1/2 C honey (don't use honey for babies) Use Garlic Oil recipe below
-blend in blender well then strain.
-fast results.

Garlic Oil Rub
1/2 C coconut oil (or olive oil)
6 cloves of chopped fresh garlic
-heat oil gently for 45 min with the garlic. Do not want to brown the garlic. Let cool.
-message oil on neck & chest every 2 hr or bottom of feet (put socks on afterwards).
-keep unsed portion in fridge. If sensitive to coconut oil, use olive oil instead.

Garlic Salve
1/3 coconut oil
2 Tbsp olive oil
8 cloves peeled garlic
5 or so drops of lavender oil
-blend in blender 'til smooth. 
-strain off garlic bits.
-store in fridge.
-apply liberally to chest, back, & bottom of feet (covered with socks) at least 4x/day or every 2 hrs. More frequent the better.


General Cough 1
1 tsp organic almond paste or butter
1/2 tsp honey (optional)
-administer 3-4x/day. Almonds are high in magnesium which helps in lung functions.

Anise Rum
5 Tbsp anise seeds
1 C rum
-sit in room temp for 2 weeks.
-use 2 tsp as needed for cough.
-it allows mucus to be removed from the body
-anise also increase milk production for nursing mothers

General Cough 2
1 Tbsp ACV in 16.9 oz water at room temperature. Sip all day long...cough gone in a day or two. Keep on it 'til it's all gone.

Can take ACV in fruit juices as well.

You can take ACV up to 2-3 Tbsp daily dosage to be most effective for many health concerns. You can put it in water or juice or your favorite drink. You may use any type of sweetener to get it down. But just know that too much sugar will make your condition worse so use it sparingly. Healthy sweetners to choose from: raw honey, stevia, and xylitol.
